Philippians Bible Study – Introduction

Philippians Bible Study – Introduction

Many weeks ago I finished a study through the book of James. It was a very practical yet challenging study.

Beginning next week I’ll be doing a new study on the brief book of Philippians. We’ll take it a chapter at a time and dig deep into the words. I’m hoping you’ll be encouraged and deepened in your relationship with Christ through this study.

In this short letter Paul encourages Christians to live as people with a heavenly mindset. For example in verse 27 of chapter one, he encourages us to let our manner of life be worthy of the Gospel of Christ. Throughout the book we will see Paul encouraging Christians to be people of the Gospel, he wants Christians to live out their faith in obedience to the Gospel.
Paul’s principal aspiration for this letter is to encourage Christians to be like Christ, to spread the gospel of Christ. Not only through their words but also by living it out in their lives. He wants them to be living examples of the gospel of Christ.
This is certainly applicable and relevant to us today in our lives. I want you to proliferate in your desire to be like Christ and to live your life as an example of Him. No matter what the cost may be.

Please join me these next few weeks in studying this brief letter. I know you’ll be strengthened and more thoroughly grounded in your understanding of the gospel, and your desire to grow in living a radical life in obedience to the gospel.
Lord willing, I’ll see you next week. Have a good one!
