Memorize With Me This November

Memorize With Me This November

I’m sure all of you probably know that just yesterday, the calendar flipped a page (hopefully not by itself) and we entered into a new month.  Later this month, if the Lord wills, we will celebrate Thanksgiving day. Families often gather together to celebrate on this day and we are reminded of how much we are blessed with that  which we very often take for granted. I hope that this day is not the only day we are thankful, but a day that reminds us to be thankful to God all throughout the entire year.

One way for us to remind ourselves all throughout the year to be thankful to God, is by memorizing bible passages on that specific topic. Throughout our lives, we will remember the passages and we’ll be reminded how much we have for which we can be thankful to God.

Each week this month, I hope to memorize a passage on the topic of thanksgiving. I encourage you to join me in doing so. It may seem difficult to memorize a passage a week but the passages I have picked for each week are only about two or three verses long. I know that if you find the right methods and are disciplined to study for about fifteen minutes each day, you will find memorization not as difficult as you might have originally thought.

If you do choose to memorize with me, make sure you memorize for the right reasons, with the right attitude.

My hope is that through memorizing these things I will be reminded when I recite these verses to myself throughout life, to be thankful to God for all that I have. I hope that through this I will never forget what blessings God has given me and that I should always be thankful to God not only through prayer but in everything I do.

Here’s How:

I began today memorizing 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18:

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

This passage contains a few of the shortest verses in the Bible, so hopefully I can memorize these verses by next Sunday the 8th. In the weeks ahead, I will have longer passages to memorize, but I don’t think they’ll be too difficult to memorize.

If you would like to join me in memorizing this month, you can fill out the form below with simply your name and email. I will email those who would like to memorize with me this month. I’ll include the passages for this week and share some methods I use. I’ll also email you at the beginning of each new week with that weeks assigned passage. I’ll share a few tips and methods that I find helpful and also give you an opportunity to share your thoughts and ideas as well.

If you have any questions or are unsure about any of the details please comment and I would be glad to help.

Thank you for your consideration in joining me as I memorize this month. I look forward to sharing again with you next Monday. Hope you have an enjoyable week!
