My Review:
With Philippians as His guide Matt Chandler unpacks truth to lead a Christian toward authentic spiritual maturity. His writing style and outline makes for a very enjoyable read, while still challenging his readers with key biblical truths.

One thing that stands out to me was his emphasis on service and sacrifice to others. He made several key points, service and sacrifice for others being one of them. He says,

“Always, always, always seek the cross. It is there that we see our example for service and sacrifice to others. It is there that we get the power to serve and sacrifice for others. And it is there that we receive forgiveness when we fail in serving and sacrifice for others.”

Only at the cross will we find the enabling power to live in faith and obedience. We cannot rely on ourselves for the necessary strength to live out faithful service toward others. We must seek the cross.

This book was helpful toward my spiritual growth and I would recommend reading it. Especially if you’re seeking sound biblical advice to aid you in maturity and growth in your walk with Christ
